Unforgettable ride, fantastic support!

What an incredible experience! I completed Transpyr Backroads and it was absolutely epic. The route was stunning, and the organization was just brilliant. I added the mechanical support package and it was a lifesaver, those guys were so helpful when I had a flat. Everything about it, from the online registration to the finish line, was perfectly managed. I'm already thinking about next year's event. I can't wait to come back for another one!

Good value, minor snag

I registered for E-Transpyr during the early bird period, which was a good saving. The registration was smooth, and getting all the information about accommodation and transport was easy enough. The event itself delivered on its promise, a tough but rewarding ride. My only small issue was with the official cycling kit; the sizing seemed a bit off compared to other brands, so I wish there was a more detailed size guide or exchange policy for pre-ordered items. Still, for the price and the overall experience, it was worth it. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the kit, even if an exchange wasn't possible.

Comprehensive experience, well-managed

I signed up for the Grand Raid MTB and purchased the hotel pack along with luggage transport. The ordering process on the website was clear, and I received confirmation emails promptly. Delivery of the finisher jersey happened as expected after the event; it arrived in good condition. Customer support responded to my question about GPS rental within a day, which was helpful. The quality of the organization for the race and services like the hotels and luggage handling was top-notch, making the whole experience much smoother. It really helped to just focus on the ride itself. Overall, a great job by the team.

Easy registration, good event

I registered for Transpyr Coast to Coast MTB. The process was straightforward online. Everything was clear, no issues. The event itself was well-organized. I would do it again.

Quick question about the luggage transport. How exactly does that work if I sign up for one of the multi-stage events? Do they just take my stuff from hotel to hotel?

A Amber Jackson 1 month ago
Yep, pretty much. You just drop off your bag in the morning at the designated spot and it's waiting for you at the next overnight stop. Super convenient, saves you hauling stuff.

From what I remember, they have a weight limit for the bags but it's pretty generous. Just pack a soft duffel, not a rigid suitcase. They handle it all, you just focus on riding.

What happens if I have to cancel my registration? Is there any way to get a refund or defer it? Life happens, you know?

M Mary T. 3 weeks ago
I think it depends on how close to the event you cancel. Early on you get a bigger chunk back, but it gets less as it gets closer. You should check their actual policy on the site, but there's usually a tiered refund system.

Yeah, they have a cancellation policy listed. I remember reading it's not a full refund if it's super close to the start. Might be worth getting the optional insurance if you're worried about having to pull out.

Thinking of signing up for the E-Transpyr. Is it really open to anyone or do you need a super specific type of e-bike? Also, what's the average fitness level for that category?

A Amanda Mitchell 1 month ago
Nah, any e-bike is usually fine as long as it meets the general regs for trail riding. The fitness is still important though, it's not a walk in the park just because it's an e-bike. You'll still be riding long distances and climbing.

Yeah, don't underestimate the E-Transpyr. You still need to be fit enough to spend hours in the saddle day after day. It just evens the playing field a bit if you're not a pro racer or want to enjoy the views more.

Hey guys, thinking about doing the Coast to Coast MTB. Is there usually any way to get a discount on the registration fee? Like, do they do Black Friday sales or something?

B Brittany Lewis 3 weeks ago
Yeah they def do early bird stuff. I signed up last year for the C2C Road way early and saved a bit. I think it was like 10-15% cheaper than the final price.

Black Friday is a thing for them sometimes, I've seen 'inscripciones' deals around then. Also if you've done it before, there's a 'descuento repetidores' or if you're part of a club ('federados') sometimes.

Anyone done both Transpyr and Cape Epic? Trying to decide which one to aim for next year. How do they compare difficulty-wise or just overall vibe?

I Ian Lee 3 weeks ago
Cape Epic is a whole different beast, way more competitive and technically demanding in parts. Transpyr is still hard, don't get me wrong, but it feels a bit more about the journey and the Pyrenees views. Both epic, but different flavors.

I've only done Transpyr Grand Raid, but my buddy did Cape Epic. He said Transpyr was tough, especially the climbs, but the logistics and atmosphere were more relaxed. Cape Epic is a serious race with pro teams and everything.
